Why Pre-qualify?

Pre-qualifying is a good and very important first step in the home buying process.

Getting pre-qualified carries a number of advantages. From knowing how much home you can afford, to informing a seller that you are serious and ready to buy.

In order to calculate the price of a home you can afford, your financial position needs to be assessed. By pre-qualifying for a given loan amount, you can adequately shop for a home within your price range.

Pre-Qualification Letter.

A lender may provide you with a prequalification letter, however neither you nor the lender are required to do business with each other. The letter only states that you have undergone the prequalification process and it confirms a price range you and your REALTOR® will need.
